COVID-19 Pandemic and Posttreatment Breast Cancer Surveillance and Outcomes

Ce dossier présente un ensemble d'articles concernant la pandémie de COVID-19 et la vaccination contre la COVID-19 chez des patients atteints d'un cancer

Little is known about the COVID-19 pandemic effect on breast cancer posttreatment surveillance, but observational studies found reductions in breast cancer screening in the general population, and a systematic review concluded fewer early-stage and more advanced cases were diagnosed post–COVID-19. Disruptions in posttreatment surveillance in this population could affect outcomes. We compared use of surveillance imaging in pre–COVID-19 and post–COVID-19 periods for patients with early-stage breast cancer diagnosis within an integrated health care system, Kaiser Permanente Southern California (KPSC), and evaluated detection of short-term breast cancer recurrence.
