Trends in HPV Vaccination Before Age 13 Years in the US National Immunization Survey–Teen

Menée aux Etats-Unis à partir de données 2011-2021 d'une enquête portant sur 220 806 adolescents, cette étude analyse, en fonction du sexe, les tendances concernant la vaccination contre le papillomavirus humain avant 13 ans

Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination is safe and effective for cancer prevention. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP) has recommended routine HPV vaccination for females aged 11 to 12 years since 2006 and for males since 2011; however, uptake has been lower among younger adolescents. Data on sex-specific trends in adolescent HPV vaccine initiation and series completion before age 13 years are limited; therefore, we aimed to assess these trends using clinician-verified data from the 2011 to 2021 National Immunization Survey–Teen.
