American Society of Clinical Oncology Road to Recovery Report: Learning From the COVID-19 Experience to Improve Clinical Research and Cancer Care
Ce dossier présente un ensemble d'articles concernant la prise en charge des cancers durant la crise sanitaire liée au COVID-19
The novel coronavirus pandemic and resulting public health emergency prompted urgent responses across all sectors of society, including economic, social, and healthcare measures intended to protect the safety of patients and healthcare workers and to mitigate disruptions in care. The effect of these measures offers an opportunity to reflect on whether prepandemic policies, care delivery practices, and research procedures should be permanently modified to enable more efficient and accessible cancer care and clinical research going forward. Future policies and practices should be informed by emerging data and lessons learned from the experiences of patients, physicians, care teams, health systems, researchers, and research sponsors in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. ASCO convened the Steering Group on Cancer Care Delivery and Research in a Post-Pandemic Environment to evaluate adaptations in care delivery, research operations, and regulatory oversight made in response to the pandemic and to make recommendations for moving forward as the pandemic recedes. The Steering Group included two multidisciplinary task forces: The Research Task Force and the Cancer Care Delivery Task Force. Here we present ASCO's recommendations for modifying prepandemic policies and practices to improve patient access to high-quality cancer care and opportunities to participate in research and to ensure the ongoing well-being of patients with cancer, caregivers, and the oncology workforce.
