The French National Cancer Institute (INCa) is a State health and science agency specialising in cancer control created on 9 August 2004. It operates under the dual supervision of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Research.

We are a centre of expertise and resources aiming to enhance coordination among all stakeholders involved in the fight against cancer.

We act as an interface for patients, their families, healthcare system users, the general public, healthcare professionals, researchers, experts, and decision-makers, facilitating progress in cancer care.

We carry an integrated approach that works across all aspects of cancer control – health, scientific, social, and economic – as well as intervention areas such as prevention, screening, care, and research.

We lead the national effort to reduce the burden of cancer in our country. Thus, we ensure the implementation of France’s ten-year cancer control strategy. This ambitious strategy builds upon previous Cancer Plans and continues the collective mobilisation against this disease.
